We've been working with the Chilterns AONB (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) for nearly twenty years now, so were very pleased when they asked us to build a portal to help their Citizen Scientists manage their projects and data gathering.
The portal needed to enable the users to mange projects, log time and provide a space for sharing questions and exchanging information about the many areas of environmental research in the AONB.
We created a bespoke solution which enabled them to do this and more, whilst ensuring that the system was user friendly and accessible by all. A particular requirement was ensuring that the site worked well on mobile phones with limited connectivity so that it was usable by members who might be stood in their waders in the middle of a chalk stream.
And, of course, it looks great.
